Ashok
has an impressive record in creative strategic business
development with wide experience in helping start-up businesses
succeed. Educated with Masters degrees in Physics - Electronics
& Spectroscopy and in Semiconductor Physics and Technology, he
is able to adapt readily to the most complex technologies.
Ashok's
career has covered many different roles, including project
development, project management, product life-cycle management,
cost modelling for new business concepts, cost control, customer
support planning and business development. His bias for action
drives teams to achieve beyond their expectations.
His
first role with Hozur Instruments as Application and Marketing
manager involved the transfer of infrared thermometry technology
from UK to India. Achieving this goal required strategic
marketing, presentations and consultative selling to multilevel
audiences, developing a presence at trade-shows by setting up
clear product demonstrations and providing vision and cost tools
to win customers. He was asked to represent Hozur's business
partner, Land Infrared, directly in India, showing great faith in
his ability.
Before
moving to Canada in 1997, Ashok was responsible for opening a new
branch office for Digital Electronics Ltd. in India. Within 1 year
his contribution to the manufacturing and distribution of their
industrial process control instrumentation (SCADA and CAD
peripheral devices) resulted in doubled sales. As a consequence,
the company established itself as a significant player in the new
region.
Between
1997 and 2004, Ashok joined Creo Inc, a technology company based
in Burnaby, British Columbia, which revolutionized the printing
industry through it’s innovative Hi-Tech hardware and software
technology products. As Product Support Manager, he was
instrumental in developing the model for the worldwide support
business and for its successful implementation. Creo's reputation
for 'Fabled Service' is derived in no small part from his
contribution.
